In 2004 First Baptist Church Ashville petitioned to affiliate with Scioto Valley Baptist Association. During the September 2004 Executive Board Meeting, they were voted under watch care status. At the Annual Meeting, held on October 2, 2004, the church was received into full fellowship.
During 2006, First Baptist Church began extensive renovations of their facilities and erected a shelter house. The parking lot was expanded. A free community meal was provided once a month in 2013.
A mission team from Macon Baptist Association, Georgia came during the summer of 2008. This group was part of a larger group which stayed at Rohr Road Baptist Church, Lockbourne. The team helped in the ongoing renovations of the facilities. Backyard Bible Clubs were also held. Later that summer, a mission group from Truett Baptist Association, North Carolina also helped with the ongoing renovations.
