HISTORY:
Frankfort Baptist Mission in Frankfort, Ohio was started in 1967.  Mrs. Bernice Ackley and Mrs. Aline Briggs were the driving force, along with the area missionary, Robert Hall.  The mission was under the sponsorship of Immanuel Baptist Church, Washington Courthouse, Ohio but disbanded after two years.  Rev. William Dean was the Mission pastor at that time.

In 1971, Sabina Baptist Church, Ohio came to Frankfort wanting to start a mission.  Home Fellowships were started with the leadership of  Nelson Provost and Bill Crouch.  Sunday services were started later that year with Rev. Crouch as the mission pastor.  He stayed until the summer of 1975 when his work took him to another state.  Under his leadership, two lots were purchased and Chillicothe Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Ohio assumed sponsorship.  Paul McGuire became the mission pastor staying until 1980.

The two lots were paid off and a note burning service was held on May 22, 1977.  Constitution Services were held on July 30, 1978 with 31 charter members.  Groundbreaking services were held on March 25, 1979.  The first services in the new building were held on October 14, 1979 with dedication service on December 9, 1979.

On Good Friday in 1980, fire destroyed the facilities.  The church was able to hold services at the Methodist Church.  Needing a temporary location, the congregation met at the Legion Hall.  Later that year the congregation moved into ther newly rebuilt facility.

A house adjacent to the church facilities was purchased and renovated.  "The Agape House" is used for Sunday School and special events.  A mortgage burning celebration was held June 2006.

Over the years, Frankfort Baptist Church has been actively involved in several community events.  Some of these are:  Sunflower Festival, Community Church Service, Good Friday Services, Community Christmas Cantata, Joint Thanksgiving Service, and Community SongFest.  Some of  Church's ministries include the following:  Women on Mission, Men's Prayer Breakfast, Clothing Give-A-Way, Vacation Bible School, Nursing Home and the Shoebox Ministry.
